This recipe is a cross between a typical energy bar and a candy bar. Healthier than
candy, better tasting than energy bars. It is based on the classic rice crispies treats, but tastes
MUCH more interesting.
1-1/3C Quick Oats
1/3C Grape Nuts Cereal
2/3C Coarsely chopped almonds
4C Rice Crispies Cereal
2T Sesame seeds
3T Smart Balance Spread
2t Dark Molasses
1t Toasted sesame oil
1t Vanilla extract
Mix dry ingredients in large bowl. Melt Smart Balance in a stock pot over Med-Low heat. Add marshmallows,
stirring occasionally. Add honey, molasses and sesame oil. When marshmallows are completely melted,
remove from heat and stir in vanilla. Mix in dry ingredients and stir until evenly coated.
Press into oiled 10x13 baking dish with oiled spatula. Allow to cool, then cut into 10 equal portions.
